A Complete Guide to the Power Flame Type C Burner

A Complete Guide to the Power Flame Type C Burner

The Power Flame Type C burner boasts an ultramodern design for unparalleled operating dependability and combustion efficiency. These combustion systems are engineered to fire gas, light oils, gas/light oil, and a wide range of liquid fuels within the #2 fuel oil viscosity range.

With an expansive firing spectrum ranging from 300,000 - 19,100,000 BTU/HR, the Power Flame Type C Burner is available in the following models:

  • CG (Gas Burner)
  • CO (Light Oil Burner)
  • CGO (Gas-Light Oil Burner)
  • CG HTD (Gas Burner High Turndown)
  • Forced Draft Burners

Technological Features of the Power Flame Type C Burner

The modular design of the Power Flame Type C Burner produces increased flexibility and allows a long list of standard and optional features.

Unique Blast Tube and Firing Head Construction

The Power Flame Type C Burner is highlighted by the advanced construction of the firing head and blast tube. This construction allows the burner to be most effectively applied to several retrofit applications - by firing through the existing fire door. In contrast, competing burners would have to cut through the water wall to accommodate the larger diameter and shorter blast tube and firing head.

Adjustable Pre-mix Firing Head

The optional adjustable pre-mix firing head produces optimum fuel-air mixture within the pre-mix combustion zone. This feature shortens the flame and maximizes stability, which adds a significant amount of flexibility to tough-firing applications. It also allows you to achieve lower gas supply pressures than the competition.

Convenient Side Orifice Tee Design

Power Flame features a "side orifice tee" design, which allows for the modification of firing rates and gas pressure at an easy-to-access location - in the gas train outside of the burner. In contrast, competing burners use "multi spud orifices" and are mounted inside of the firing head. This complicates servicing the burner or making adjustments. It also requires the technician to climb into the combustion chamber or remove the burner from the heat exchanger.

Easy Total Access Panel

The Total Access Panel allows the operators to gain unencumbered access to all of the essential components mounted inside of the burner control panel. The swing-out, easily removable front and top panels offer total access to the internal panel-mounted components.

Characterized Fuel Metering

The Optional Varicam® characterized 14-point, cam-actuated, fuel metering device provides accurately repeatable and fully adjustable fuel-air ratios throughout the firing range. It is applicable for gas, oil, and combination oil/gas modulating burners.

Graphic Burner Management System

With the optional Director™ Graphic Burner Management System, you will have access to a high-quality graphic display of the most critical burner functions. This cutting-edge feature simplifies the management of your burner system.

Power Flame Type C Standard Equipment

Regardless of the Power Flame Type C Burner model, all combustion systems are factory fire-tested to ensure the most cost-effective start up and installation.
